In this quick video, I stress the topic of just launching your business, website, service, (fill in the blank here) already. As entrepreneurs, we want everything to be perfect and to have the best service/website that is possible. This also means having the most features that we can come up with. Well, if you continue to add features to your website or add services to your business, you will never be happy and never be at a point where you want to launch your business.
So, just launch your freaking business already! Launch your business with what is necessary to bring in customers/clients/readers/subscribers/buyers/whoever and then as your presence starts to build and you get more traction, add in the new features and slowly add them in. This will show your audience that your business is still growing and that many more great things are to come in the future!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Chris
Another reason to get launched is that the feedback from real live customers helps you determine what features will actually make a difference to your business.
While you’re planning you’re always making assumptions about how a particular feature will play in reality. Getting it launched lets you use your customers and users for real feedback and get them involved in developing the next incarnation.
We feature new business ideas and startups all the time on our site and just about every new launch comes with a list of features that they’ll be adding in the future.
That’s why you slap a big ‘beta’ icon on your site.
@Mark I couldn’t agree more! Having that real live feedback on your business/website/service/product is hard to get anywhere except from your customers! Without it, like you said, everything you try to do will be speculation! Thanks for the great comment and stopping by! Please subscribe to the RSS feed if you are not already so you can keep updated with future posts! Thanks!!!
I’ve heard this same message put out from at least 3 others this past week. I’m working on something and have been focusing on having it all at launch. Time to just do it and slap that BETA ladel on. Thanks!
@Josh I’m glad you’ve got the message! I know it can be tough when your building your “baby” but sometimes you’ve got to just do it and get it out there. You’ve got to crawl before you walk right? Good luck with it!
Is that a voice optimized video…I think you said the word ‘launch’ like 732 times 🙂
Seems that is the theme for 2009 implement, launch, do…all of the aforementioned. We all have ‘great ideas’ because as entrepreneurs that is what we do- think of sh// everyday. Granted you can think of all the best ideas in the world once you get the product/service out there, nobody thinks its cool except for you. And of course, the thing your customer will find most interesting and attractive is always going to be the very, very, very simplest and basic thing that you initially thought of anyway. Go figure, huh? So in the famous words of Sir Richard Branson, Screw it…and let’s just do it!
@teenbizcoach
This will surely help the young and the new entrepreneurs. Thanks for sharing this. This site will help too.
