This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kia Rio. All opinions are 100% mine.
Kia recently put out their Zip and Dash to L.A. scavenger hunt which featured two sets of friends zooming around Hollywood in the latest 2012 Kia Rio 5 Door following clues to 5 landmarks and finally winding up meeting Christinia Millian. Check out the video below to see how the challenge went.
The places they stopped at were:
The Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round – a historic landmark in L.A that has been running since 1937, and is a place where Walt Disney brought his children before building Disneyland.
• Amoeba Records – one of the most popular historic music stores in Los Angeles. Visitors can find rare vinyl, CDs, tapes and music memorabilia, and even catch a live show.
• Rodeo Drive – One of the most expensive and swanky shopping destinations in Beverly Hills.
• Pink’s Hot Dogs – An L.A. favorite serving hot dogs named after Hollywood celebrities.
• The Roosevelt Hotel – Smack dab in the middle of Hollywood Blvd and home to both history and the best parties in L.A.
Looks pretty fun right? I've been to Los Angelos a couple times but only for work and not for fun, so seeing some of these spots in the video was a neat chance to learn some more about L.A. I think the worst challenge for me would be searching through the CD racks to find that specific one – I hate flipping through those things!
But, the important thing – how about the Rio? Looks like a really sweet car.
The coolest feature is definitely the navigation and entertainment system in the dash. It's powered by Microsoft's UVO Technology which is pretty sweet. Granted a lot of cars are having more hands free and bluetooth features added in now adays, but I haven't seen anything that has as much of a wide variety as the UVO features. In the video the teams plug a USB thumb drive into the car to get their instructions – now that's awesome. All the music options are really neat too.
What do you think of the challenges? Obviously the best would be racing to the hotel at the end and getting to meet a celebrity. If you were in the challenge who would you want to meet? Not sure who my top pick would be but I think on my list would certainly be Edward Norton, Matt Damon, and Jessica Biel.
Check out the Rio Explorer Page to find out more details about the car. Let us know in the comments what you thought of the car and the Zip and Dash challenges!
