Ok, so you are probably saying to yourself, “That’s it? That’s what the wait was for?” and well, your right. I didn’t want totake the new header design too extreme and make it something that it shouldn’t be. Therefore, I kept with the same overall design and just changed the elements (fonts, colors, and image). What do you think?
I wanted to use a more “group” related image as opposed to the single running man that was in the old header to show the growth of the site and the new developments that it has made over the past few months. When Dorm Room Biz was first launched, I felt very much like the person on the header, always in the running position and going as fast as possible. Over the past few months, I have been able to slow my pace down, even if it is just a little bit, and make things more controlled and the way that they should be. The group related image shows the new direction that Dorm Room Biz is heading, starting with joining the Mind Petals blog network and slowly moving to having guest bloggers continue to post articles on the site and make it more of a group site as opposed to just me feeling like I need to write content for the site instead of wanting to write it. So, be on the look out for more guest blog posts coming in the future (speaking of which, if you would be interested in writing on Dorm Room Biz, contact me).
So, what are your thoughts? I had a hard time deciding on what fonts I wanted to use, but as you can tell, I went pretty simple with them and just wanted to stay fresh and simple with the new design anyway.

*FireFox users, you may need to either refresh your browser to get the new image to load or wait a little bit for it to replace the old one. For some reason there is a lag between the updates of the page view in FireFox as opposed to IE. If you are that curious and impatient, feel free to check it in IE (if you dare).*
Eh…it’s doable I guess.
Thats what I said too. I like the overall theme that I got from it but its just finding some good fonts that go well together and work. Oh well, maybe it will get a change soon. Depends on what happens.
I like it. Nice and simple. Maybe you should take out the people and incorporate some element of an actual dorm room in the header. Overall, nice.
